What is Alamo's debit card policy in North America?

In the USA and Canada, rental locations only accept debit cards that bear the following logos

• VISA
• MasterCard
• Discover Card

Debit cards without one of these logos are not accepted. Canadian debits cards are also NOT accepted.

Important to note

In the USA and Canada, debit cards will only be accepted if you can share:

• Proof of your entry into the country at the pick-up rental location, and
  
• Proof of your departure from the country at the drop-off rental location
  This could be an airline boarding pass or train ticket, for example.

If you do not have any supporting evidence, then a credit card will also be required.

Puerto Rico

In Puerto Rico, a credit card in the name of the renter must be presented at the time of pick-up. Debit cards are accepted only for payment at time of return.
